Countdown

Christmas is next week! This year I have been so busy with other things, that I have not even put up my tree yet. Yesterday my home teacher suggested that I not bother with it at this point, but I can't do that, what would my kids say? So, I guess I will have to make it today's priority. That, and figuring out what to get my siblings this year. I am often at a bit of a loss when it comes to finding the right gift for someone. In fact, I have pretty much given up on my husband. I might buy him some little thing, but he buys all his own major gifts. And, he has informed me that if I want anything for Christmas I'd better go get it. ;) Some people probably think that this is a sorry state of affairs, but at least we both get what we want, right? No guilt over missed signals, no disappointed stares when the wife opens a package to discover a chop saw. No forced gratitude over an ugly tie, or an attempt to fix a husband's wardrobe disguised as a gift. (You know you do!) I even wrap my presents and put them under the tree. "Wow, Santa brought Mommy a diamond necklace! What a surprise! I must have been extra good this year." :)

BTW, Santa is not bringing me any diamonds. I simply could not think of anything that I wanted that was big enough to make that funny. I guess that makes me pretty darn lucky. :D
