But, there is a purpose, and I am a tiny bit excited. A while ago (I think it might have been last week sometime--my concept of time is a little skewed) Devon came up to me and said, "stinky". I checked his diaper, and he was fine, so I told him to come back when he was done. He came back a minute later and said, "stinky". Jason happened to be home, and he suggested I take him to the toilet. I kind-of rolled my eyes, because I knew how it would go. I would put him on the toilet, and ten minutes later I would take him off and he would immediately fill his diaper. But, I took him in, and amazingly enough, he did his business almost immediately.
Then, this morning Brett came out of the bathroom and Devon went in. I could hear him in there and told him to come out and quit playing in the bathroom. Brett informed me that Devon's pants were down. He couldn't get his snaps undone, and so I came and asked him what was going on. He said, "potty" (I always swore I would never use that word with my children, but it just sort-of comes out!). So, I put him on the toilet, and waited. And waited. I kept asking if he was done, but he said no, and eventually he went. He was very proud of himself. Me too! I even gave him a treat. (I'm not sure if he knew why, but he was happy.)
So, although I don't really have any ambitions to get Devon potty trained (there's that word again) before the baby comes, it's looking like it might be a possibility. Wouldn't that be awesome!?

How exciting for you!! Talmage has been wanting to go potty lately and I'm so not ready to go through potty training with him yet, so I'm always saying, "you can go later." Hmm, some day I guess I'll get ambitious. And it would be nice to not have 3 in diapers.
I love all your stories. You are a great writer.
That truly would be a potty miracle if he is already potty trained (we use that word all the time). I hope for your sake it is a miracle!
The fish story was hilarious. I would have done the same thing-buy new fish while the kids are asleep and before they could notice. But of course, there really is no foolin' those young, little minds-they are way too smart! :)
