"Mom, I think I need a cell phone."
"Umm.. what?"
"Ok, I don't really need one, but I could have one."
"Why do you want one?"
"Well, I could call you in case something happens..."
Does she really want a phone to call me, or does the precocious little thing already know that the friend angle won't work, and the emergency angle might?

BTW, this picture was taken this morning. If you look, you can see the little mark above her left eye. It doesn't look like much, but that is where the rock hit her. It looked so deep. Once I was done being angry I had to give a prayer of thanks that it wasn't a little lower--I could just picture myself driving to the emergency room with blood gushing out of her eye. {:-(

"Ouch" on the picture, and "lol" at the cell phone story. Yikes... does it start that early? I can't believe that Ashley's classmates have cell phones... if that's where she got the idea.
That is so funny because Rachel (4th grade) is convinced that she's the ONLY one without a cell phone. (In reality there's maybe one person WITH one at school!) BTW, Ashley has the prettiest color eyes!
Well, I finally got back to your blog. I really do love reading what you write. It makes me laugh and laugh. I especially liked Brett's wisdom. And I enjoy reading the comments that you get from others. Love you!!
Jennifer, I am so glad you have a blog! Now we can keep in touch! And I think you are wrong, because your blog is great! I miss your witty sense of humor. :) I feel like my blog is a little plain because it just has stuff about my family, and I am NOT witty in any way. I have to make the background look cute so I feel like it will be interesting.
I can't believe how big your kids are! WOW! I guess it has been almost 5 years since we have seen you guys! So glad to be back in touch!
